Film maker, John Huston's WWII site...

The friendly local Mayor who hosted us.

We took a trip, about an hour and a half from where we live, in Formia, to the little town of San Pietro Infine. This little town has been left as it was after WWII. the Germans were attacking through this valley on the way to take the very famous Monte Cassino, which you can see from this hill top town. This is the place where John Huston made his WWII Documentary. The city has made a small museum where it shows parts of the film. When you come to visit us...... we can go there, and also go to Monte Cassino. (How's that for a bribe??!!)

MOVING OFF THE HILL

Glad they moved with this little 'elevator gadget', eliminated all the stairs. And here goes the TV!

This is looking south, toward Naples. A nice walk along this street.

We decided it was time to move off the hill. Quite by happenstance..... we were talking to the right person about what we were looking for. That meant one level and off the hill for easier walking, and convience.........but I needed a vew, again. We were led to the perfect place here on the beach on Via Vindicio, still in Formia. Yep.... right across the street from the beach. It was quick planning. Saw it mid January and moved Jan 28. Love it!
