TO NEW BERN, NC VIA ONE STOP IN VIRGINIA BEACH.

Gavin and Aaron on one of many rides at the Seafood Festival in Moorhead. Had a delicious lunch.
Drove on to Virginia Beach for a one night stop to see our very dear friend, Carolyn Dittrick. Chat - Chat- Chat...etc.... and went to our favorite little Italian restaurant. Next morning, a late morning is more like it,...... we left for New Bern. The last of our trip to see son Mike & Tracey, and the grandchildren there. Kaili, now 16, Gavin, 7, and Aaron, 4. Mama Mia what a busy house. Was sure fun and great to be with them. Dad helped Mike detail his truck, a favorite thing for them to do.
Tracey's workout with Gavin, Aaron and dog, Zeus

ON TO THE NEXT STOP

While in Oneida, we stayed at the old and historic Mansion House, which was the original commune organized by the executives of the Oneida Silver Community. It started as a fur trading community before it went into the silver business.
Leaving Oneida, we drove to Princeton, NJ, to be with son Craig and wife, Marie, and Grandchildren, Abby and Luke. We were really looking forward to this visit. Abby, 13, is a school star in soccer. What a talent. Luke, 7, is a lively Cub Scout and a whiz at many games. Got to see a couple soccer games. A wonderful visit.
From there we drove down the middle of Penn to see more changing of the colors for fall. We had perfect weather the whole trip.

Dad, son and grandson..... Total Chargers fans!!

ON TO THE EAST COAST

Just four days after coming home from Lake Tahoe we scrambled to get ready to go to the east coast. First stop, Oneida, where Bob grew up. We drove around to all his boyhood places, house, school, ball field.....etc. Bob, along with seven others from Oneida High School were being inducted to the Wall of Distinction. Another classmate had put his name in for that. Very nice event and well done. They had a continuous slide show of a few pages of all of them from the year book. He got the same plaque they will have on the wall. Their main reason for this, not only acknowledging the inductees, but to give all young people the incentive to go for their goals. Nice idea.

Bob, Rolland Smith, John Losemen, Dick Prophet
Bob & Rolland were the  inductees

Rolland has been a TV Anchorman in New York and California, and done many documentaries, including one from years ago in Viet Nam

HORSE RACING AT DEL MAR

I finally got to go to Del Mar and do a bit of betting. I went with a couple of my long time friends, one of which is a member at the Del Mar Club. Helps!!! I bet on...... this had to be a sure winner.... SENATOR BOB. And it did. Fun.

There he is, in the lead.

GOLF TOURNAMENT FOR THE TROOPS

And the golf tournament for our troop charities was another success. That's for Soldiers Who Salsa and North County Warrior Support. A lot of you received some special emails from us. Thanks so much for your help. It was in Rancho Bernardo this year.
Ed Capp, Bob, and Sam Bass, our MC from KYXY Radio

Bob Wendt, making sure all gets said and done.

AND ON WITH BUSY DAYS

Oh... forgot to put a picture in of our picnic at the summer concert.
OK.... now it's picking up and the days are getting busy. Did a few more shows. And then we planned to use the timeshare in Lake Tahoe in late Sept. Kris and Bill Halsey went with us. And we even took Mika, with her little service coat on. She went to all the restaurants with us and even into the casino.
Allen Miller and his children, CEO of  COPE Health Solutions

George and Patti Worth

Bob's favorite thing to do..... reading with his 'little girl' with him.
Lake Tahoe

Pat & Roger took us to the concert.

AND THE YEAR IS HEADING TO THE SECOND HALF......

June came and went.... We had a couple shows the Toe Tappers did for  some Senior Centers and Communities. We didn't do the week in Canada per usual at the timeshare. We'll do that later. Had arthroscopic knee surgery and all mended well. I sort of 'walked' through some dancing after a couple months.
In July we had our neighbors from Italy stop by to see us. What a nice surprise.
Too many doctors appointments for now so I'll skip that. The usual checkups, you know, and walking better. No news there.......
Went to a couple summer concerts out in the parks and took a picnic. Went with one of my tapper friends and her husband. Lot's of food, wine, and fun.
Bob's client had a conference in August

This was all old Hollywood glamour days hideaways. Great stories all around.

for all, including wives and pets, out in La Quinta, Palm Desert. Had a great time.
