MID YEAR HAPPENINGS

Our Granddaughter, Abby, was chosen to go with a special soccer team to Malawi, Africa, to help the young people. They have a soccer team but didn't have a field, equipment or uniforms and Abby was very involved in getting a lot of that together to take to these soccer players. What a life changing experience. Really very proud of her.

And just a bit of 'things around us here at home'. Didn't get a lot of traveling done this year but sure stayed plenty busy. Where does that time go, anyway!?

THE FIRST FEW MONTHS OF 2017

I find myself staring into space wondering where to start. That's what happens when you don't start this earlier in the year....... soooo, as I go over the calendar as my reminder, here we go. It takes a few days to get started in somewhat of a routine to start the year....... hhhmmmm 2017. Mostly into rehearsals, a couple lunch dates, and extra trips to see my brother, Gene. As it turned out in the following weeks, we got things in order and he passed away Feb 28. Yes, I miss him.....
On we go and keeping busy. Rehearsals, Bob's Board meetings, and meetings on the Board of the VA Medical Research Fnd.
In April we had a 'Gene's Day' instead of a Memorial Service.
This is exactly what Genie wanted...... a table full of friends at a favorite restaurant having Italian food and wine.!
